Team India entered the World Cup 2019 as one of the strong favourites. The Virat Kohli-led side made sure to maintain the status as they finished the group stages on a significant note. Apart from a defeat against hosts, India dominated in each and every match, hence finishing on top. Batsmen stood tall more often than not, so did the bowlers. But what suddenly went wrong and India found themselves out of the tournament?

One can settle with the answer that it was just a bad day for Kohli’s men. Though is that it? Probably not. The side doubtlessly played magnificently throughout the World Cup, however, there are several questions that are yet to be answered. As the side tours West Indies in the next assignment, starting from August 2, let’s look at those unanswered questions.

Middle-order muddle

How many times have you heard about the middle-order fiasco? Almost every time you see someone talking about Team India. The batting heavyweight side has tried almost everything to solve the middle-order muddle, however, nothing seems to be working at now.

Whenever top-order collapses, India almost finds itself out of the game more often than not. Be it Rayudu’s, Karthik’s, Rahul’s, Pant’s: almost everyone has got a go yet the results have been unchanged.

When India travels to the Caribbean, one of the major questions will be about the middle-order. Will Team India try something new or give older ones another chance?

Dhoni or no Dhoni?

There has lately been a bit of debate about MS Dhoni’s inclusion in the team for West Indies tour. Reports recently claimed that the veteran cricket won’t get a go, however, there still is no official confirmation.

There also are rumours about his retirement. So, as BCCI postponed the squad announcement for the tour, the excitement among fans has doubled. They are eager to know about the future of India's former skipper.
