New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson on Monday lauded in-form Rohit Sharma, terming him 'standout' in the tournament so far.

"Rohit has been the standout batsman in this tournament so far. Without a doubt, he has been superb in this World Cup." Williamson said ahead of the first semi-final of ICC Cricket World Cup 2019.

Williamson who himself has been in top touch, scoring consistently for Men in Black, though also showed confidence on his bowling attack.

"Our bowling attack has performed really well. They have assessed the conditions as quickly as possible. We need to be our best in the semi-final. The Indian team also has an outstanding attack. They have a balanced team." He said.

With earlier match between the two sides been washed out, India will face New Zealand for the first time in the tournament today at Old Trafford. India has been outstanding as finished the group stages on top before heading to the semi-finals. Kiwis, on the other hand, also started off well, however, failed to maintain the momentum, losing last some matches.

Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma, having already smashed five tons in World Cup so fat, will be the batsman to watch out as the two teams face-off.
