Swara Bhasker wrote a thought-provoking letter to Sanjay Leela Bhansali after watching Padmaavat. A part of her letter read, “You may be wondering why the hell I am going on and on thus about vaginas. Because Sir, that’s what I felt like at the end of your magnum opus. I felt like a vagina. I felt reduced to a vagina–only.”

Swara’s reaction to the film saw many people slamming her for her opinion. She even posted on twitter later, “Funny that people cannot get over the fact that a woman said Vagina! Funny that in a 2440 word article making fairly comprehensible arguments they only remember the word Vagina!!! So... Vagina vagina vagina vagina vagina vagina...............vagina vagina VAGINA!!!!!”

At an event today, when asked about it, “Everybody has a right to an opinion. Like I am entitled to an opinion, so is everyone else. I put forth my point of view. I feel I put across my point of view in a polite and respectful manner. I did not have any vicious intent. I had legitimate questions after watching the film and I raised those.”

“If people don’t agree with me, it’s alright as it is democratic country. I had no idea that this would create such a mayhem and that people who are not connected to the film at all will get upset,” she added.

“I didn’t have any mal-intent. I did not know that the letter would invoke so much interest,” she concluded.

Swara is a classless, uneducated woman who is clueless what is polite, respectful etc... she does not know the difference and should shut her vile mouth.

NOW - I want someone to write an open letter as a "VAGINA" and write about how it was insulted and humiliated by Swara's letter. When you say you were "reduced" to a vagina, you are belittling a "vagina" that is the most powerful part a woman or a human being can possess. It procures life!! Think about it! My Vagina is hugely offended!!

True that it was not polite. Polite is NOT publishing something on a newspaper and lasing out a respectable director. That is RUDE and UNCALLED for.

JUST BECAUSE IT WAS POLITE AND RESPECTFUL DOES NOT MEAN IT WAS NECESSARY! IT WAS COMPLETELY UNCALLED FOR. THERE WAS NO NEED FOR IT AT ALL! SHE NEEDS TO UNDERSTAND "THAT"!!!

What does Swara have to say about Amrita's birthday cake and Kareena asking for her to do it again. Will Swara be okay if men also did similar things with women's body parts as a theme on their birthday cakes

And then goes on to do another film showing stalking n honor killing. This woman is a rank hypocrite. Good that people called her attention seeking gimmick out.

How was an open letter a polite way? She could have went straight to him and discussed. Her opinion wasn’t even valid anyway when everybody knows that Padmaavat will end with a jauhar scene.

She is this close to getting Rakhi Sawant zoned now! Hope she comes out of her bubble and realises that.

Sonam and kareena"s brainless attitude is rubbing on her!! She is spending too much time with these bimboos!! I though swara was intelligent woman !! but no i was proven wrong!! whoever joins kareena gang is full of crap!!!

Swara Bhaskar acts like not only she is entitled to her opinion, but privileged to it. You have an opinion, share with your peers, get their take on the matter, try to understand it better before penning down an open letter on social media. These people are taking "entitled to their opinion" right for granted.

Gosh people are so jealous of DP and her success.

Her career is so over!

Calm down Swara. Stop lying after writing that crap letter. You never had a problem with playing a item girll showing skin or about so many other issues in films but here you are trying to get two mins publicity

She needs to stop smoking whatever she is and watch the film again. Maybe she will understand that the movie is a historical

She’s right

Your letter was not polite, it was stupid.. pointless and baseless..Did Soman tell you to do this out of jealousy

I thought the letter was quite disrespectful. I could understand what she was trying to say and even empathized with that to an extent but her choice of words made me wince.

Wow this lady is a trip!!! Writes a goading and insulting article oh her baseless and illogical opinion and expects people not to react!

Very respectful ha ha ha
