Drama, thrill, excitement, emotions, and whatnot. These few words surely can’t do justice with what world just witnessed in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 grand finale. It was an unbelievable match as England prevailed over New Zealand in the super-over thriller at Lord's.

The match was tied initially with England chasing down the 242-run total. New Zealand bowlers bowled exceedingly well to restrict star-studded English batting line-up. It lastly, went down to 15 required off the last over.

Trent Boult kept Kiwis right on top in the first two balls before Ben Stokes struck one out of the boundary and followed with an iconic over-throw 6, which made the equation more achievable for Englishmen. Then with 3 needed off two, Boult made sure Stokes doesn't connect a big shot, ensuring scores are level.

In the super-over, 'tired' Ben Stokes showed courage by coming to bat alongside Jos Buttler. The duo put on a scintillating 15-run total off Boult's over, keeping England still super alive. For Kiwis, surprisingly, James Neesham started the proceedings with Martin Guptill.

The move turned out to be a great one as Neesham hit six off the second ball, making the equation to 7 required off 4. Lately, it went down to 2 in 1 where Guptill could only score the single. Although scores were again leveled, England having hit more boundaries emerged as winners, hence lifting their maiden World Cup.
