1 Year of Thappad: Taapsee Pannu, Dia Mirza & Anubhav Sinha say cheers to 'respect & happiness'

To celebrate Thappad's first anniversary, director Anubhav Sinha as well as the film's actors took to social media to remember the critically acclaimed film.

Anubhav Sinha's film Thappad starring Taapsee Pannu in the lead role clocks a year today. And to celebrate the film's anniversary, the director as well as its actors took to social media to remember the critically acclaimed film. In a chat with ETimes, Dia Mirza remembered how she felt after reading the script of Thappad. She said, "I will never forget the feeling I had after I read the script of 'Thappad'! It felt like a deeply personal triumph as a woman. The way people connected with the characters, responded to the subtext and performances, made it truly wonderful! I deeply respect Ratnaji (Pathak Shah) and Naseer (Naseeruddin Shah) saab and their message for my performance." 

Apart from Dia, Taapsee also took to social media to share a photo with Thappad's girl gang and director Anubhav Sinha. Marking the first anniversary, Taapse said 'cheers to respect and happiness', a crucial element around which the film revolved. As for Anubhav Sinha, the director shared a video which included some powerful dialogues from the film's female characters. He wrote, "Saal ho gaya. Pata hi nahi chala. Itne pyaar ka dher saara dhanyawaad. (A year already. Did not realise it. Thank you for all the love) #THAPPAD Love you TEAM."
