Box Office Occupancy Report: Meri Pyaari Bindu and Sarkar 3 open to a slow start
Meri Pyaari Bindu and Sarkar 3 open to a dull response.
Ayushmann Khurrana and Parineeti Chopra starrer Meri Pyaari Bindu along with Ram Gopal Varma's Sarkar 3 hit theatres today. However, as per reports gathered till now, both the movies have opened to a dull opening as SS Rajamouli's Baahubali 2: The Conclusion continues to dominate the box-office.
According to a leading trade site, the third Friday collections of Baahubali 2: The Conclusion in Hindi will be more than the combined total of Meri Pyaari Bindu and Sarkar 3 as it has more screenings than both the above-mentioned films. While Sarkar 3 released in around 1425 screens in India, Meri Pyaari Bindu released in only about 750 screens.
Despite this, according to a trade site, Meri Pyaari Bindu opened in the 15-20% range while Sarkar 3 is 8-10%.
The figures for Meri Pyaari Bindu is expected to grow in the coming weekend, however, a lot depends on the positive word of mouth. Whereas Sarkar 3 seems to be in a relatively poor position as there is no buzz at all for the movie.
Also given the songs and promotions done by Ayushmann and Parineeti, the film seems to have created a buzz for itself even as Baahubali continues to enjoy the limelight.
Meri Pyaari Bindu is a love story revolving around the lives of an aspiring singer Bindu and novelist Abimanyu Roy.
On the other hand, RGV's Sarkar 3 marks the return of megastar Amitabh Bachchan as the angry young man. Apart from him, Amit Sadh, Manoj Bajpayee, Jackie Shroff, Yami Gautam among others are also part of the movie.
