Aamir Khan and Saif Ali Khan to reunite after 18 years for Hindi remake of hit 2017 Tamil film 'Vikram Vedha'

Tamil's 2017 hit film Vijay Sethupathi-Madhavan starrer Vikram Vedha has been making news time and again after it was first speculated that the film will be remade in Hindi. It was earlier said that Shah Rukh Khan wanted to remake the film in Bollywood and play Vijay Sethupathi's role Vedha from the original version. But the film did not materialise. Now, according to a latest report Aamir Khan and Saif Ali Khan are coming together for the remake of the film.

Pinkvilla had exclusively revealed last week that Aamir and Saif have been in talks for a project since quite some time. As per a Filmfare report, Aamir will be essaying Vijay Sethupathi’s gangster character whereas Saif will replace Madhavan as the honest cop. 

Tamil director duo Pushkar-Gayatri, who helmed the original, will also be headlining the Hindi remake of the film. Last year, it was announced that the Hindi remake will be produced by Y NOT Studios and Plan C Studios, which is a collaboration of Reliance Entertainment and Neeraj Pandey’s Friday Filmworks. The film is expected to go on floors by March 2020. With this film, The Dil Chahta Hai stars will be seen on the silver screen after a long long time.

Made on a budget of Rs 11 crore, suspense thriller Vikram Vedha went onto rake in Rs 50 crore at the worldwide box office. According to trade reports, the film grossed Rs 10 crores during the opening week in Tamil Nadu. While Saif Ali Khan is currently shooting for Jawaani Jaaneman in London, Aamir Khan had announced on his birthday recently that he will be remaking the 1994 Hollywood film Forrest Gump.
