In the wake of the #MeToo campaign, several men and women are naming and shaming predators. From the film and television industry, Alok Nath, Nana Patekar, Kailash Kher and other have been accused by many women. CINTAA and other official bodies have come out in support of the movement. The accused have also been served with a show cause notice to which they have to respond within 10 days. Now, Aamir Khan who met with the Producers' Guild today to discuss ways to make the film industry safer for women has shared a statement on social media.

Aamir Khan today shared on social media that he has decided to walk out of a film because someone associated with the film has a sexual harassment case pending against him/her. Aamir Khan did not name the person, but he was to start working on Gulshan Kumar's biopic, Mogul after the release of Vijay Krishna Acharya's Thugs of Hindostan. Aamir had reportedly recently done the look test for the film and was to begin shooting soon. However, it seems that the supestar has walked out of the film. In a statement Aamir shared, he mentioned that as creative people, he and Aamir Khan productions have been committed to finding solutions to social issues.

Aamir added that it was brought to their attention recently that someone he was about to begin work with has a case pending against him/her of sexual misconduct. He stated that without casting aspersions and coming to conclusions about the people involved, he and Kiran Rao have decided to step away from the project.

Respected aamir sir.

Sir u leaving a project due to 1 person may hamper many others career and financial. U are the best and ur movie will make money so think about it once again for the sake of others associated. Love you sir as a human being

And Hrithik the sleeze completed an entire film with another sleeze

Aamir wanted to walk out of Moghul since some time... Good excuse to use,i can also benefit his image..

I don't agree to boycott someone just because allegation was brought by a woman. He should get a fair chance to present his side of the story.

My respect and faith in Aamir Khan is being restored again.
