Actor Aamir Khan took to social media on Wednesday to seek forgiveness in his annual Michhami Dukkadam post. The day which is observed widely by the Jain community is undertaken to ask for forgiveness for whatever offences he may have knowingly or unknowingly caused over the last 12 months. In his post, Aamir wrote, "If I have ever, knowingly or unknowingly caused anyone hurt or pain, I seek forgiveness from you with a bowed head and folded hands. Please forgive me," he said, before signing off with his trademark, “Love, a.”

Micchami Dukkaḍaṃ literally translates to “may all the evil that has been done be fruitless" from Prakrit. The Jain community observes this on the last day of Paryushana, the most important annual holy event of the Jain calendar. Aamir's post received quit a few reactions.

Many linked his post to politics and the actor's silence over a variety of topics like the most recent one being Kashmir. On a lighter note, many others forgave Aamir Khan for making a film like Thugs of Hindostan. The action drama film made on a massive budget failed miserably at the box office last year.

It also featured Amitabh Bachchan and Dangal star Fatima Sana Sheikh. A netizen wrote, "Accha theek hai.... Maaf kiya... Lekin dubara #ThugsOfHindustaan jaisi ghatiya movie mat banana." While another user commented, "We forgive you for "thugs of hindustan" micchhami dukadam." Take a look at Aamir's post below:
