Oscar nominated film-maker Ashvin Kumar's 'No Fathers In Kashmir' was entangled in an eight-month long process since June 2018 for certification which ultimately led to a ban on the film. It is a love story where two 16-year-olds go on a search for their fathers who are missing in the valley. Soni Razdan stars in a pivotal role along with Anshuman Jha and Khulbhushan Kharbanda. Film-maker Ashvin Kumar who was previously nominated for an Oscar for Little Terrorist (2015) has directed the film.

The makers had challenged the Central Board of Film Certification's (CBFC) verdict after the film was given A certificate and called out the judgement as the film didn't include any scenes promoting nudity, violence, hatred or other sensitive subjects. After a screening held in February, the FCAT has finally lifted the ban and passed the film with few changes. The makers and cast awaits the CBFC verdict further and are positive for the decision. Alia Bhatt had tweeted about the issue in the month of January when the film was struggling to breath and hoped to give 'love a chance'. She has constantly been supporting her mother's film as she also has put up Instagram stories on the same issue.
