Ileana D'Cruz opens up about her struggles with depression.
Ileana D'Cruz has become a popular name post her performance in Anurag Basu's Barfi. However, the actor who is known for her grace revealed that she was not confident about herself at one point.
In a video shot for an apparel brand, the actor opened up about battling with her body dysmorphic disorder for 15 long years.
“I was shy, a self-conscious person once I hit my teens. I was constantly hit on for my body type. The obsession started when I was 15. My entire life goal was to be accepted by everyone. I never got it. I did not know I had body disorder. There was a period, approx three years ago. I was completely depressed. The most comforting thought was to end things. But I realised it did not seem right," she said.
Sharing the video, the Main Tera Hero actor wrote, “Acceptance is the first step towards being a better you. I’m trying every day.”
Ileana is not the first person to open up about depression. Previously, Deepika Padukone, Anushka Sharma and Karan Johar too have spoken about their struggles with depression.
On the work front, the talented actor was last seen in Ajay Devgn's Baadshaho which had a good run at the box office. The movie also featured Emraan Hashmi, Esha Gupta among others in the lead roles.
