The seasoned Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon, who will be seen as the judge on Nach Baliye 9, recently slammed Dangal actress Zaira Wasim on social media after the latter announced her exit from the industry. In a statement, Zaira said that she is leaving the industry in pursuit of peace. Many media reports claimed that Zaira was forced to make an exit from the industry, after which, Raveena in a tweet slammed the actress for being "ungrateful" to the industry.

However, upon realising that she must have reacted impulsively, Raveena deleted her tweet and later posted, "I wish her luck and strength. After seeing this, I now regret my first immediate tweet after reading her statement. Maybe she was forced to write what was unacceptable to people like me who love films, cinema, the industry, that I was born into. Deleting the tweet that now sounds harsh...If this is true and the reason for her to quit, if she was or is under pressure, then I do feel sad for the girl. Was she forced into writing the long statement by radicals out of fear? She was a role model to so many youngsters with dreams and inspirations that they could achieve."

On Saturday, Zaira in a post cited religious reasons to quit Bollywood and wrote, “Five years ago I made a decision that changed my life forever. As I stepped my foot in Bollywood, it opened doors of massive popularity for me. As I complete 5 years today, I want to confess that I am not truly happy with this identity, that is, my line of work. For a very long time now it has felt like I have struggled to become someone else. I kept procrastinating by tricking and deluding my conscience into the idea that I know what I am doing doesn’t feel right but assumed that I will put an end to this whenever the time feels right and I continued to put myself in a vulnerable position where it was always so easy to succumb to the environment that damaged my peace, imaan and my relationship with Allah."

"Regret my tweet after reading her statement"

This means you tweeted without even reading what Zaira said. How stupid of you.

Deleting her original tweet is just damage control by Raveena after she faced immense backlash for it. But it's too late. We have already seen your ugly heart Ms Tandon

Raveena was from inside the industry, and although she faced struggle unlike the star kids of days, she probably doesn't realize how difficult it is for female outsiders in the industry today. ZW is right - regardless of religion, female outsiders are put in a very vulnerable position in the industry. Talent gets you nowhere if you are unwilling to compromise.

but i agreed with Raveena. Why she has to make a good hoopla about quitting. Just GO.

Madam Tandon just one line to you- JudgeMENTAL hai kya

I support ZW's decision. she sounds sensible .

Zaira didn't put down Bollywoo. So there was no need for raveena to come to Bollywood's defense. Raveena just put her well manicured foot in her mouth. When she received backlash she promptly put her foot where everyone does-on the ground.

Raveena should be ashamed of herself. Judging a girl half her age. Sgr is just a young girl figuring out her options. Leave her alone. This raveena was on suicide brink at her age. And she wants her to be a role model. Look into your past before making a judgement mrs.

Don't interfere in one's life. Respect her decision.

Don't interfere in one's life. Respect her decision.

Raveena, you seriously got some issues. Zaira's life, Zaira's problem. Live and let live and stop judging. You don't know what their life path is all about. Focus on your own before you derail. Peace

Zaira is an adult and she is taking decision about her life based on her views, she is using her twitter, and posting on her wall, without blaming or shaming anyone, or asking them to follow her footsteps. What is raveena's problem? Guilty-conscious? If I made compromises, what's your problem?

Guess she saw a mirror with the caption #Hypocrite
