It’s been almost a year since Sridevi’s untimely demise but the Indian film industry and especially her family, still can’t come to terms with the fact that Sridevi is not there amongst them anymore. The Mr. India actress passed away on February 24, 2018, but as per the tithi, her death anniversary will be observed on February 14, 2019. And therefore, Boney Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor, and Khushi will hold a puja for the late actress at her maternal home in Chennai.

According to a report in DNA, the rituals that take place for the barsi will be held at her maternal home, which is right next to Dr. M Karunanidhi’s residence in Chennai. Besides Boney, Janhvi and Khushi, Anil Kapoor’s wife, Sunita, and some other close family members, will also be present. For the uninitiated, Sridevi died on February 24, 2018, by accidentally drowning in the bathtub of a hotel room while she was in Dubai to attend a family wedding. Later, the actress was brought to Mumbai three days and cremated in Mumbai with state honors.

Just like any other mother, Sridevi, too was super thrilled about daughter Janhvi’s debut film – Dhadak but unfortunately, the film released post her demise. Janhvi made her Bollywood debut with Shashank Khaitan’s Dhadak opposite Ishaan Khatter and the film performed well at the box office, having entered the Rs 100 crores club. In a recent interview, Janhvi had said that she has still not processed her mother’s death as she said, “I think, I was still in that state of shock, to be very honest. I think I am still in shock. None of it has been processed. Like, I have no memory of three or four months.”

I can't believe it's been one year. The pain still hasn't faded. I see her songs and pictures and I want to cry :(

who looks more like sridevi?
janhvi or khushi?

These rituals should not be done at maternal house.

what is 'tithi'?
i dont get why the puja is on valentines day when she passed away 10 days later.

Tithi means date it's unlike English calendar the day starts at 12am and end at 12 but in Hindu calendar it's different it depends on the planet movement. According to that the day falls on Feb 14 so they are conducting the rituals that day

Hindu's don't follow the date's, we follow tithi, search in google u will get the description.

she deserved more. she really did.

she deserved a longer life.
she deserved more awards and accolades films that did justice to her capabilities
she deserved a less controversial family life
she deserved more respect upon her death than what she got.

I agree with other points apart from this part: "she deserved a less controversial family life" - maybe, but she very much contributed to its being controversial.

i really can not believe it has been a year.

it hits me as hard today as it did, a year back and gosh, idek what to say. really a life lost too soon.

im 100% certain the half siblings, 'loving' as they are, wont attend.

Sridevi would still be happy that her step children have been there for her kids - that is more important to her than them attneding the ritual.
