Akshay Kumar has THIS to say about rumours connecting his films to projects implemented by PM Modi
Akshay Kumar will next be seen in the upcoming film Mission Mangal which is loosely based on India's first interplanetary expedition
Bollywood’s Khiladi Akshay Kumar is currently busy on a promotional spree for his upcoming science fiction drama Mission Mangal, in which he will be sharing the big screen with Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu, Nithya Menen, Kirti Kulhari, Sharman Joshi, H. G. Dattatreya and Sonakshi Sinha. Directed by Jagan Shakti, the film is loosely based on the life of scientists at Indian Space Research Organisation who contributed to the country’s Mars Orbiter Mission. Mission Mangal is slated to release on 15th August.
During a recent media interaction, the actor was asked about the connection between PM Narendra Modi’s implemented projects and his films. To this, Akshay replied, “Modi sir did Swachh Bharat in 2014, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha came in 2017. So, you are wrong.” He went on to add, “The Chandrayaan project has been in development since 2015 and we started shooting Mission Mangal in December 2018. So, even that is not possible. This is all coincidental.”
Sharing another example, Akshay said, “ISRO was established on August 15, 1969 and it is coincidental that our film is releasing on the 50th anniversary of its formation. I got to know about this months ago. About Kesari, it is a film set in 1897 on a real-life event in which we were attacked, we didn't attack anyone. This has got nothing to do with what you're saying.”
