The much-awaited Rohit Shetty film Sooryavanshi, starring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif, was slated for a release on Eid 2020. However, the release date of the cop drama has been preponed to March 27, 2020, in order to avoid a clash with Salman Khan and Alia Bhatt starrer Inshallah, at the box office. Sooryavanshi was announced at the end of Rohit Shetty’s 2018 blockbuster Simmba, in which Ranveer Singh played the titular character.

Sooryavanshi is reportedly the costliest cop film ever to be made in the history of Indian cinema. Akshay will be seen playing the role of DCP Veer Sooryavanshi, Chief of the Anti-Terrorism Squad and Katrina will be playing the female lead. Announcing the change in date of release, Rohit Shetty had shared a photograph with Salman Khan with the caption: “You can Compete with the World but Not with your Family... See you soon Chulbul Pandey!!!” Salman also took to twitter to write: “I always thought of him as my younger brother and today he proves it... #RohitShetty Sooryavanshi releasing on 27th March, 2020.”

Well this did not go down well with netizens and fans of Akshay Kumar. Within a few hours, social media was flooding with messages asking the makers why they took this decision. Akshay Kumar took to twitter today to calm his fans and requested them to keep a positive outlook. He even wrote that he understands their anger but expressed that he would not like to see them participate in such activities.

SORRY TO SAY BUT SALMAN KHAN IS VERY MUCH AFRAID OF HIS OWN MOVIES HE DONT HAVE CONFIDENCE IN HIM THATS Y HE ALWAYS RELEASE HIS MOVIES ON EID IF HE THINKS HE IS A STAR THEN LETS DO ONE THING LET HIM COME IN SOME OTHER DAY NOT ON EID. AND IF SALMAN IS A REAL STAR THEN HE SHOULD NOT AFRAID OF SOORYVANSHI COME TOGETHR U WILL COME TO KNOW ON THAT DAY DOODH KA DOODH BUT HE WILL NEVER DO THAT HE KNOWS HE CANT COMPETE WITH AKSHAY KUMAR AS ALL WE KNOWS HOW AKSHAY WAS SO GOOD ROLE IN MUJSHE SHAADI KAROGE IN THAT MOVIE SALMAN WAS NOTHING IN FROUNT OF AKSHAY

I would rather watch Akki/Kat combo.

I don't know why but Inshallah gives a huge vibe of Saawariya. Such a boring film.
Both Salman and Aaliya does not suit for period dramas.

Mulla Salman will be a big flop is he doesn’t release his movie on Eid!!! That’s why he begged Rohit to change his dates!!!!
Dum hai to release on other times like Akshay does !!! Salman is a lowlife like he owns the Eid slot!!!

both films will flop bcuse dp is bansali's lucky charm and kat is every body's unlucky charm

i am pretty sure Inshallah will FLOP.

The trend will go on till eid 2020

at the end of the day - eid is salman's time as evident from the last decade. akshay is a bankable star, but even his hits bring in less than salman's flops. he should just stick to his republic day releases/etc.

Just chill folks. It'll be ok.
