Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan made their Bollywood debut together in 2012 with Karan Johar's Student of The Year. The film also starred Sidharth Malhotra and it was also his debut film. The audiences loved Alia and Varun's chemistry in the film. Since then, the two have acted in Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania (2014) and Badrinath Ki Dulhania (2017). Varia, as their fans call them, will be seen for the fourth time together in Kalank.

In an interview with PTI, both the actors got candid about working together. Varun said, "It is just that I connect with her, which evokes a reaction, and I guess this is what translates on-screen." Bhatt said that they both cannot take credit when it comes to reinventing their pairing on screen. She said it's the writing and director's vision that helps them and they execute it with a lot of passion and zest.

Alia Bhatt also revealed that she has separation anxiety when she wraps up any film with Varun. The Raazi actress said, "Every time we work together I have this separation anxiety that now maybe we won't get a chance to collaborate. And then we are working together in the next two weeks."

Their previous films were modern love stories, whereas Kalank is set during the period of 1940s and both the actors have donned different avatars.

Directed by Abhishek Varman, Kalank also stars Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Dutt, Aditya Roy Kapur and Sonakshi Sinha. The film will hit the screens on April 17.

Please remember there can be fondness and friendliness between actors which is not same as romantic love. They can get connected but not necessarily attracted to each other. If we are connected to their love on screen it is because of their ability to portray those roles, I remember wishing Kajol and SRK fall in love with each other in their real life during those Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge days.
