Amazon's Jeff Bezos and wife MacKenzie are divorcing after 25 years of marriage
Amazon's Jeff Bezos and wife MacKenzie released a joint statement today that they are divorcing. The Amazon CEO tweeted that they are splitting on amicable terms.

Amazon's founder and CEO Jeff Bezos made headlines today after he made known the couple's intention to divorce, after a long married life of 25 years and 4 children. The CEO posted on his social media handle, a joint statement revealing that he and wife MacKenzie were ending their marriage amicably. Bezos, 54, and MacKenzie, 48, had a sweet love story when they met in the early 90s, while working at D.E. Shaw, a New York-based hedge fund. They soon took the plunge and moved to Seattle, where Bezos founded Amazon.
The rest as they say, is history as Amazon's popularity and success led Bezos to become one of the world's richest person, with an estimated net worth of $137 billion. Buzz is that this divorce, therefore, will be a very costly affair. Jeff made clear in his statement that they still feel incredibly lucky to have found each other and if they had known 25 years earlier that they would separate one day, they would still go ahead and do it all. The couple have three sons, and one daughter adopted from China.
MacKenzie S. Bezos is a novelist and served as an executive director in Bezos's anti-bullying organization Bystander Revolution. The couple mentioned that they will still continue to operate as partners in their business ventures.
