Anushka Sharma, who was last seen in Sui Dhaga alongside Varun Dhawan, has mainly been involved in producing content and being by husband Virat Kohli's side like a rock as he was touring for the Cricket World Cup. Though wives of players were not allowed to be with the cricketers throughout the campaign, Anushka and Virat did spend some quality time in between matches. Their pictures from London were a treat for fans back home as the two stars looked relaxed and happy. Now, in a recent interview to Filmfare, Anushka opened up about her marriage to Indian skipper Virat Kohli.

The actress threw light upon her decision to get married while she was still in her 20s, which by many is still considered early for a female actor in the Indian film industry. Virat and Anushka had a dreamy and hush-hush wedding in Italy in 2017. Speaking about it, she said, "Our audience is way more evolved than our industry is. Audiences are just interested in seeing actors on screen. They don't care about your personal lives, whether you're married or whether you're a mother. We need to get out of this headspace. I got married at 29, supposedly young for an actress. But I did it because I was in love. And I am in love."

Anushka and Virat dated for a few years and the actress added that taking the next step only seemed natural. Anuska also touched upon gender roles. "Marriage was a natural progression. I've always stood for women being treated equally. So, I wouldn't want to experience the most beautiful moment of my life with fear in mind. If a man doesn't think twice before getting married and continues to work, then why should a woman think about it? I'm happy that more actresses have got married. People in love are going out there and expressing it. It's so beautiful to see happy couples together."

Following Anushka's marriage in December 2017, a host of Bollywood's leading ladies like Sonam Kapoor, Deepika Padukone and   Priyanka Chopra tied the knot in 2018.

It's heaven, when you don't sense time passing by ... It's heaven, when you marry a good 'man' ...
