Arijit Singh is one of the top singers currently and almost every Bollywood film as a song sung by him. The talented singer has won hearts with his husky and melodious voice since 2013 with Aashiqui 2 songs.

Despite being one of the most-loved singers, Arijit is quite a reserved person who doesn't stay much in the limelight. When a leading daily asked him about the same, the singer said, "I personally feel that I am not that good at media interactions as I enjoy a silent and quiet life away from fame. It’s the way I have always been and therefore I try to refrain from speaking to the press. It is also because I don’t like being called a celebrity but lately, the growth of social media has been such that it has become difficult."

About singers, actors, and performers being cited as stars, the Laal Ishq singer said, "I think the words star and celebrity are created and are usually a state of mind rather than an actual thing. More recently, these words are gaining more importance, especially in this industry and show business. This, like any other business, is a place where creative people come together to make movies or music."

There was a time when there were several top singers in the Bollywood industry. However, with Arijit's entry, he is the most-preferred, most-heard and the top choice of music composers. So, when the singer was asked about it, he said, "I don’t think that I have created any monopoly over Bollywood music. There are so many other singers who are doing exceptionally well. Nor do I think that there’s anyone trying to sound like me and even if they do that might be unintentionally. It’s definitely not Arijit effect."

About exploring different genres of music, he said, I’m still thinking about that. I’ll have to practice because I haven’t tried a couple of genres I want to try. I think I’ll need at least three to four years to get into that genre and sound real and stay true to the genre."
