All the buzz around Avengers 4 seems to be rather undying, as with every passing day, a new development takes place. And while we've been hearing a lot about the official trailer release, here's some update from the horse's mouth himself. Director Joe Russo, while during a live chat with the fans and viewers mentioned about the current progress of the film.

While we are all aware of the fact that the film is currently in the post-production stage and that there is a long time until its release, director Russo spoke about the runtime of the film as far as the current cut is concerned. He said, "The running time on Avengers 4 is currently sitting right at three hours." He further mentioned, "We’ll see if that holds, but it’s sitting right at three hours right now."

Avengers 4, tentatively titled Avengers: Annihilation is slated to release on May 4, 2019, and given the time for the film to finally release, we don't know what will the final run time look like on the big screen. During the session, the director also revealed that the film is currently halfway through in terms of post-production.

"We’re about halfway through the editing process. We’re really just scratching the surface on our VFX shots. There are more than 3,000 VFX shots in the movie; those require a lot of time. We’ve just started work with Alan Silvestri on the score, and we’re still editing picture at this point," he further elaborated.

It could easily be a three-hour film but we’re very hard on the material,” he said. However, he then also added how he doesn't wish to hit the 3-hour mark after all and said that, “We like it to play at a certain pace. I’m sure that we’ll squeeze it…I do think it will be longer than Avengers 3."

Well, this does pique everyone's interest to an unbearably exciting level, doesn't it?
