Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar's Shubh Mangal Saavdhan has performed exceedingly well at the box office. The movie directed by RS Prasanna dealt with the subject of erectile dysfunction.
At the success party of the movie, Prasanna revealed that he has already discussed an idea with producer Aanand L Rai regarding a sequel to the film.
"We already had a story but we were waiting for the audience's reaction if they wanted to listen to the next story," the director said.
He further added, "The feedback we got was positive. So a sequel will definitely happen, but we don't know when exactly it is going to happen. When I was making the Tamil version then I had thought of an idea for the sequel. I think It will be a lot of fun, but it is only an idea as of now. There is no script, so it will take time."
Ayushmann, who was also present at the event, added,"But the problem is, what will be the 'problem' of part two since it already got solved in the first one... We are looking for a plot line. It is a quirky plot and we want to explore it more."
Recently, when Ayushmann was asked by a leading daily if essaying such roles makes him challenge the conventional image of an Indian man, the actor replied, "Well, that's the message we are trying to convey through this film. My character Mudit is macho. SMS (Shubh Mangal Saavdhan) celebrates the alpha male of our country, who is suffering from performance anxiety. He, along with his partner, is trying to fight the problem. For the couple, it is them versus the family. The film draws attention to the fact that manhood is not just about 'getting it up', but standing up for various issues."
