It was back in 2015 that the movie Baby was released into the theatres. Featuring Akshay Kumar, Anupam Kher, Taapsee Pannu, Rana Daggubati, Kay Kay Menon, Madhurima Tuli, and others in the lead roles, the action thriller received a humongous response from the audience back then. The movie directed by Neeraj Pandey was not only successful at the box office but also paved the way for the making of its sequel titled Naam Shabana that was released in 2017.

Today, as Baby clocks six years of its release, we bring to you an anecdote related to the action drama. It is related to Akshay Kumar who played the lead role in the same. The actor had once revealed that initially, he did not understand the relevance of the espionage thriller’s title. Akshay said during the trailer launch of the movie that he was surprised upon hearing the script but gradually understood the importance of the title ‘Baby.’

For the unversed, the plot of the movie was inspired by real-life events and Akshay Kumar played the role of an undercover cop in the same. The Hindi drama was co-produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Shital Bhatia, Aruna Bhatia. Meanwhile, Danny Denzongpa not only featured in the movie but also narrated the story of the same. As has been mentioned above, its spin-off titled Naam Shabana featuring Taapsee Pannu was released two years later and received a positive response from the audience. Moreover, Akshay Kumar did an extended cameo in the same.
