It will be John Abraham's second Independence Day outing in two years. The last time John graced the Independence Day box office, it was in 2018 with his film Satyameva Jayate. The actor dons the skin of a DCP in Batla House. The movie is based on an encounter which took place in 2008. The makers have released the trailer today.

For the unversed, the Nikkhil Advani directorial is based on the Batla House encounter case, officially known as Operation Batla House. The encounter took place in September 2008 against the Indian Mujahideen terrorists in Batla House locality of New Delhi. Two suspected terrorists, Atif Ameen and Mohammad Sajid, were killed during the encounter. Two other suspected terrorists were arrested. However, one of them managed to escape.

The trailer goes on to show Sanjeev explaining the encounter unfold time and again. The trailer is engaging and leaves you intrigued about the events.

Batla House will be John's fifth consecutive movie that is based on the theme of patriotism. John was last seen as a RAW agent in RAW. He also played the role of an IAS officer in Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran. The actor slipping into the shoes of an ACP in Force 2. Last Independence Day, he took things in his hands in Satyameva Jayate. We'll have to wait ti see if John can impress the audience and lure him into the cinemas this Independence Day as well.

Batla House has some tough competition this year. Like last year, this year too is a clash between Akshay Kumar and John Abraham. Batla House stands up against Mission Mangal. If that wasn't enough, this year's one of the most anticipated movies, Saaho, releases on Independence Day as well.
