Ayushmann Khurrana starrer Bala has been stirring up a lot of controversies ever since the makers of the film released its trailer. Be it the uncanny resemblance with Abhishek Mangat's film Ujda Chaman which shows Ayushmann Khurrana in the same bald avatar as Sunny Singh or Bhumi Pednekar's altered complexion, painting her face dark, Bala has been subjected to a lot of controversies. Recently, the news of Ujda Chaman's maker Abhishek Mangat filing three copyright violations against Ayushmann starrer Bala made the headlines and now the criticism heaped over Bhumi Pednekar has taken over the internet.

The trailer of the film is a rib-tickling one which puts a smile on one's face but it features Bhumi Pednekar in a visibly altered complexion, appearing darker than her natural skin tone which has angered the netizens as they ask 'Do we not have dark-skinned actors in Bollywood?' The viewers are extremely upset and put off and have heaped their criticism on the actress on social media as she puts up an unnatural brownface in the trailer. Check it out:

The viewers believe that the makers should have cast an actress with a dark complexion rather than painting the face of a fair actress and altering it to match up to a brownface. "One day Bollywood will realise dark-skinned people exist and they don’t have to put 2 kilos of dark foundation on a fair-skinned actress. One day,” a Twitter user wrote. “CAST ACTORS WITH DARK COMPLEXION !! This is why the world asks us why are we racist towards ourselves!!” burst out another one.
