Abhishek Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu, and Vicky Kaushal starrer Manmarziyaan, Mrunal Thakur, Richa Chadda, Frieda Pinto, Manoj Bajpayee, Rajkummar Rao starrer Love Sonia and Jaccky Bhagnani and Kritika Kamra starrer Mitron hit theatres today. It is an interesting mix for the audience as they have a number of genres to watch this week. While Manmarziyaan is a love triangle, Love Sonia is a serious film based on real incidents, Mitron is a cute love story.

With good reviews pouring in for Manmarziyaan, the movie is expected to pick up at the box office. On the other hand, Love Sonia seems to be suffering given its subject. Mitron also failed to leave an impression at the box office. We spoke to trade expert, Girish Johar, to know what the first-day box office predictions for these films would be. Manmarziyaan opened to a box office occupancy of 15% while Love Sonia opened to an occupancy of less than 5%. Mitron registered an occupancy rate of 10%.

Girish said, "Manmarziyaan opened at meagre occupancy 15% in early shows. Word of mouth is yet to come into play for the movie to rake up. If everything goes well, the movie will mint Rs 4.5/5.5 crores on its first day."

Regarding, Love Sonia, he said, "The movie is a festival oriented one and has hence opened to a very poor response as audiences don't want to come and see it in theatres. The movie might make Rs 50 lakh on its first day." "Mitron might earn Rs 1 crore on its first day," Johar added.

This Day That Year

Manmarziyan is awesome movie guys... don’t miss it Tapsee Vicky and Abhishek rocks it’s funny and romantic

Watch audience response to Manmarziyaan-film boring, not an original story, film a bit long, the end a bit stretched... both Taapsee and Vicky praised sky high though Taapsee does go over the top at times and AB as India Today puts it the weak link. I think all these remarks were kind of expected.

Love Sonia superb

Love Sonia , superb movie realistically adorned by mrunal and riya s performance .

Another flop due to Abhishek!

Ranbir, Saif and many other nepo kids also keep giving back to back flops. Abhishek was good in quite a few films and so did the other nepo kids. Anurag's films were made flop by Ranbir too, did you forget Bombay Velvet
