Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn was ousted from the series after a few controversial tweets from the filmmaker resurfaced. The whole cast of the film was shocked by this decision of Walt Disney Studios and wrote an open letter to reinstate James back as the director. Gunn tweeted this about a decade ago and the 'offensive' tweets started surfacing a few days ago.

The lead actor of Guardians of the Galaxy, Chris Pratt took to his Instagram page and shared an open letter undersigned by the rest of the cast including Chris, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Sean Gunn, Pom Klementieff, Michael Rooker.

The statement read as, "We fully support James Gunn. We were all shocked by his abrupt firing last week and have intentionally waited these ten days to respond in order to think, pray, listen, and discuss. In that time we have been encouraged by the outpouring of support from fans and members of the media who wish to see James reinstated as director of Volume 3, as well as discouraged by those who were so easily duped into believing the many outlandish conspiracy theories around him."

It also said, "There is little due process in the court of public opinion. James is likely not the last good person to be put on trial. Given the growing political divide in this country, it's safe to say instances like this will continue, although we hope American from across the political spectrum can ease up on the character assassinations and stop weaponizing mob mentality."

Chris posted the open letter by stating, "Although I don’t support James Gunn’s inappropriate jokes from years ago, he is a good man. I’d personally love to see him reinstated as director of Volume 3. If you please, read the following statement- signed by our entire cast."

Check out the open letter below and tell us about it in the comments section.

this is really nice , he is good guy . i mean those tweets were disgusting but people should get second chance . love you chriss

Well done, Chris Pratt and co. I'm on your side on this. Disney still works with known abusers like Johny Depp... James Gunn is only guilty of cracking some sad jokes.
