Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone are one of the most adorable couples in the industry. In the times of hookups and passing affairs, the duo has emerged as an epitome of unconditional love and commitment. The couple has often left us in awe of their amazing chemistry, be it in the movies like Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram Leela and Bajirao Mastani, or during public events. Ranveer and Deepika are certainly a treat to watch every time they step out together.

As much as we are in awe of their chemistry, their love story has also been one of the hot topics of discussion in the town. It was a gala event in the picturesque Lake Como in Italy where this wonderful couple took their nuptial vows as per both Konkani and Sindhi rituals. So, as Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone celebrate their first wedding anniversary today, here a look at some special moments of their wedding ceremonies.

The pre-wedding ceremonies in India

The wedding festivities began in the first week of November with a traditional Nandi puja organised by Deepika’s mother Ujjala at their residence in Bengaluru. The diva wore an orange coloured traditional ensemble in silk. On the other hand, an intimate Haldi ceremony was also organised at Ranveer’s Mumbai residence. Ranveer and Deepika twinned in white as they left for their destination wedding

On November 10, Ranveer and Deepika flew to Italy for their D-day. The couple was spotted twinning in white as the paparazzi clicked them at the airport. Ranveer wore a white bandhgala, while Deepika opted for a pristine white turtleneck top with a white pencil skirt.

Mehendi and Sangeet ceremony

The wedding festivities began in Italy with Mehendi and sangeet ceremonies. Deepika wore a pastel pink coloured heavily embroidered outfit by Sabyasachi with a decadent maroon shawl. On the other hand, groom Ranveer donned a chic Anarkali kurta for the ceremony which complemented Deepika’s outfit perfectly. Ranveer and Deepika’s Konkani wedding 

This was followed by a Konkani style wedding on November 14. It started with the Udida Mahurat an important ritual of a Konkani wedding. In this ritual, the bride and groom ground the black gram together in a stone grinder. For this ritual, Deepika wore fawn coloured traditional attire with green bangles while Ranveer wore a white dhoti-kurta with golden borders. This was followed by a wedding ceremony for which Deepika wore a red and golden saree.

Ranveer and Deepika’s Anand Karaj ceremony

After the Konkani wedding, Ranveer and Deepika took their nuptial vows as per the Sindhi rituals on November 15. For this, Deepika wore a red lehenga with heavy golden embroidery, while Ranveer wore a red sherwani. Interestingly, their wedding outfits were designed by Sabyasachi. Deepika had completed her bridal look with traditional jewellery and kaleeras. On the other hand, Ranveer had wrapped a multi-coloured turban on his head for the Anand Karaj ceremony.

Interestingly, it was an emotional moment for Deepika was seen crying at the ceremony along with her father. “The father-daughter hugged each other and cried and no one interrupted the two. The newly-wed couple arrived in India

After their grand wedding, the newlywed couple flew back to Mumbai on November 18 and the first pics as Mr. and Mrs. Singh took social media by storm. Ranveer and Deepika opted for an ethnic look. While Ranveer wore a golden kurta paired with a magenta Nehru jacket, Deepika looked new elegant in a long golden kurta with statement earrings and choker. She also wrapped a red dupatta around her.

First wedding reception in Bengaluru

Ranveer and Deepika hosted the first of their wedding receptions in Bengaluru’s The Leela Palace. The Padmaavat actress wore a golden saree gifted by her mother Ujjala Padukone for the occasion. She completed her look with a heavy emerald choker and matching earrings. Complementing his new bride was Ranveer Singh who looked dapper in a heavily embroidered black and gold kurta by Rohit Bal. Interestingly, several pics from the wedding reception surfaced on social media wherein Ranveer and Deepika were seen giving each other serious relationship goals as they walked hand-in-hand at the party. Besides, the Simmba actor, being a doting husband that he is, was also seen helping his bride with her saree.

Post-wedding bash organised by Ranveer’s sister

Ranveer’s sister Ritika organised a lavish bash for the newlyweds in Mumbai which was attended by their close friends in the city. Deepika was spotted in an entirely different look for the wedding bash as she wore modern Sabyasachi Dil Guldasta lehenga and completed her look with a braided hairdo. On the other hand, Ranveer was seen in a quirky multi-coloured attire by Manish Arora and kohl-rimmed eyes.

Soon after the wedding bash, Ranveer and Deepika a grand wedding reception in Mumbai. For the occasion, the newlyweds chose Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla creations. A wedding reception for Bollywood stars

This stunning couple organised another grand reception in Mumbai’s Grand Hyatt and this time it had the entire Bollywood in attendance. From Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif, Vicky Kaushal, Janhvi Kapoor to Rekha, Shabana Azmi-Javed Akhtar, Hema Malini, etc. the reception party was a starry affair.
