Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh are a match made in heaven. They have time and again given us relationship goals. Deepika and Ranveer just look simply perfect. The two got married in two wedding ceremonies - Konkani and Sindhi. The couple solemnized their relationship after dating for 6 long years. It’s been two months now that the two are married and are enjoying this phase. Deepika gave her first interview post marriage to Filmfare, and in the video, she is seen addressing herself as the wife of Ranveer Singh Padukone.

There were reports of her changing her surname. When asked in an interview with Hindustan Times, Deepika said they have never had a conversation on this topic and it was a candid joke that she made on the show. In her view, they both have made their own identities. Deepika said, “It’s not true. In fact, after that interview, I realised that it’s a conversation (changing surnames) Ranveer and I've never had. So, we haven’t been like, ‘oh, do you think you should change your surname l?’ That chat was, of course, a candid joke of sorts. It has never crossed either of our minds. When I was asked about it, I was like, ‘oh, we haven’t thought about it’. Maybe because it’s not important. Also, I've worked extremely hard to create my own identity and so has he. So, my question is, ‘why would he have to do that?’ I think what people see of us is a very miniscule part of our entire being and existence. But at the core of it, we are very alike.”

Your name as an actor is your identity. You should never change it. And this sounds bad, but singers, actors, etc. get divorced so much, it looks even sillier. A good example is Courtney Cox putting Arquette at the end of her name for everything, even Friends, dating that show forever. Only if you leave for a long time and come back like Jaya Bachchan did, then you can take your husband's name.

didnt she say want to be mrs kapoor in 2008?! differnt rules for differnt people :P

I would be very proud to take my husband's surname, but to each their own...Deepika Padukone is brand after all and that's what matters to them.

It is Deepika and Ranveers decision.
Why others should have any problem??

She always talks calculatively as if she has rehearsed it well
