That Ranveer Singh is in London to shoot for Kabir Khan’s sports drama is a fact known to all and for all those who don’t know, Deepika Padukone, who jetted off to London a few days back, will be shooting with hubby Ranveer Singh. That’s right! Yes, Deepika Padukone will be playing the role of Romi Dev, Kapil Dev’s wife in the film and talking about her excitement to share screen space with Ranveer Singh, Deepika informed TOI, “I am so glad that Kabir (Khan) came to me with it. This happened a couple of months ago when he was still casting the boys for the film. It’s just that I was busy with Chhappak and we were waiting for the right moment to make the announcement.”

Prior to this, Ranveer and Deepika were seen in films such as Ram Leela, Bajirao Mastani and Padmaavat, however, back then, the two were only dating each other and were not married, however, with this film, DeepVeer will be seen on screen for the first time post their Lake Como wedding and when Deepika Padukone was quizzed if the dynamics between her and Ranveer will change as actors, Deepika said, “When you are in the business of movies, you are playing a character. Of course, all of this is yet to play out, but at the end of the day, you are essaying a role, and at that point, you are not thinking whether your co-actor is your husband, brother or someone you know closely. All you try to do is, be honest in that moment.”

While Deepika feels that had it not been for Ranveer Singh playing the role of Kapil Dev, she would have still done the role of Kapil Dev’s wife. “The personal equation doesn’t spill over into the workspace. I can’t think of anyone else who could do justice to the role (of Kapil Dev), but if there was someone else playing him in the film, and not Ranveer, I would still do my part. This isn’t coming from a personal equation, but from my passion and enthusiasm for the film,” said Deepika. A few days back, Deepika wrapped up the shooting of Meghna Gulzar’s Chhapaak and the actress took to social media to share her sense of excitement after the films wrap up. It can safely be said that Ranveer Singhh’s 83 is one of the most awaited films and talking about ’83, the film is a sports drama based on India's historic win against West Indies at the 1983 Cricket World Cup. Besides Ranveer Singh, the film also features Saqib Saleem, R Badree, Harrdy Sandhu, Chirag Patil, Pankaj Tripathi, Ammy Virk and Saahil Khattar as members of the World Cup squad. Well, we are supremely excited to see Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh create magic on screen yet again.

actually to all those with a problem for your info deepika and ranveer have been in a relationship for 6-7 years now and they have openly said they are best paired with each other(well ranveer)and all of their collabs have been successes but that doesnt mean their other movies dont or wont do well, there is no because of my husband im doing this equation (and vice versa)

Sorry Deepika but I am so unhappy with your choice of film. You claimed to do only meaty roles like padmavat but what crap have you signed. A 10 mins role and may be a song. This is suitable for the likes of jackeline. But may be you are not getting big films anymore after your martial status. How misgionistic Bollywood is.

Yay !! Love DeepVeer yay !!

Deepika will be most loved by Ranveer fans if she is not arrogant

On other news shw said, she wants to spend her time with romi bhatia.& that's not a strange thing becuz ranveer spent his time with kapil for this film and deepika spend her time with romi bhatia for this film.& by the way who will plays as their baby in this film?

I'm surprised why Deepika agreed for this role, as its hardly a role which requires an actress of her calibre.

I do not understand why she and her team kept denying her part in this film. They even belittled the role saying it was too short and she wanted main roles that were meaty after Padmavaat. I think she has said yes because she knows it is going to be a blockbuster and she hasn't got anything lined up.

She's co producing this movie as well so it makes sense she plays his wife. Might be a small role but I hope it's meaty enough.

I doubt she would do it if they weren't married. Jaya, Neetu, and others have done many "coupley" movies like this with their guys because back then, boyfriends/husbands weren't crazy about their girls pairing with other people. Modern shouldn't have that problem.
