The rising pollution levels in Delhi have been a major concern for the last few years. Recently, India celebrated Diwali and burst crackers to celebrate the festivity which led to air pollution in the city become 16 times worse than the prescribed limit. Many areas in the capital of our country recorded an AQI of 999 exceeding the prescribed limit being AQI 60, which speaks the reason for the tall buildings in the city going out of sight, being trapped amidst the heavy smog floating in the sky.

The Earth Null School gave a visual representation of the situation and the difference between the air quality that saw a drastic change in a span of 30 days shows that the end is near if we continue to take nature for granted. Recognising the seriousness of the matter, many B-town celebrities like Dia Mirza, Swara Bhaskar, and Arjun Rampal took to Twitter to spread the word and bring the issue into the light. They addressed the visible climatic change and encouraged the viewers to refrain from releasing polluting matter into the air. Check out their posts:

"I sense a growing despondency. It is not a bad thing. Let’s convert this anxiety into action! The time to act on #AirPollution is NOW. Implement construction and industrial green measures Implement crop stubble management systems", Dia wrote in her tweet.

Swara posted a selfie on Instagram and captioned it taunting the netizens as she wrote,"Raat ke dhaii bajey.. sunsaan sadak.. smog aur pradooshan sey phephadey jamm gaye hain.. saans nahi li jaa rahi.. magar.. Instagram upload chaloo hai! ?????‍♀️ #vanity #narcissistalert."

Arjun Rampal, who recently landed in Delhi shared his experience on Twitter saying, "Just landed in Delhi, the air here is just unbreathable. Absolutely disgusting what has become of this city. The pollution is visible, dense smog. People are in masks. How much more disaster does one need to wake up and do the right thing? Tell ourselves we are wrong. #DelhiBachao."

Its time that we realise climatic change is real and it is an issue that needs to be addressed in all seriousness. There are several other environment-friendly ways of celebrating festivals and taking pride in our culture that enable us to keep our festive vibe alive and enjoy without being reckless with our mother earth.
