Walt Disney is one of the companies who enjoys a clean image of a family-friendly entertainment provider. And now, the upcoming acquisition of the 21st Century Fox’s film and television assets which are $71.3 billion purchase will bring darker brands such as FX and Fox Searchlight under Disney. Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger revealed that Disney will continue making R-rated Deadpool movies and other adult-oriented Marvel movies.“We will continue in that business. There’s certainly popularity with those types of films," Iger said.

Iger also revealed that films won’t be released under the traditional Marvel or Disney banner. The company will make an effort to ensure that such R-rated movies are carefully branded so that they are not in any way confusing the consumers.

Bob Iger's recent comments back the claims that were made by Avengers: Endgame directors Joe and Anthony Russo that both Deadpool and X-Men will soon feature in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. So, MCU fans don't get surprised if you see Deadpool and Logan in near future fighting with the Avengers and featuring other Marvel movies which are meant for PG-13 audiences.

Talking about Deadpool series, the first movie which was released on 2016 raked in $363 million domestically and $783 million worldwide. Later, Fox released Deadpool 2 in the summer of last year and grossed $318 million domestically and $785 million worldwide. The movie became the highest grossing X-Men movie ever.
