EXCLUSIVE: Mithila Palkar on working with Irrfan Khan in Karwaan; He always had childlike energy on sets
In an exclusive chat with Pinkvilla, Mithila Palkar has opened up about working with late actor Irrfan Khan and Dulquer Salmaan in 2018 released Karwaan. The actress was all praises for her co-stars.
The gorgeous Mithila Palkar is currently riding high on the success of her recently released film Tribhanga that marked Kajol’s debut on the digital platform. Directed by Renuka Shahane, the film saw Mithila in the role of Kajol's daughter Masha - a married woman in a patriarchal household. While the Little Things star is receiving accolades for her stint in the film, Mithila recently got candid with Pinkvilla and talked about her journey, the favourite character she has played on screen and her experiences of working with co-stars.
Notably, the stunner also spilled the beans on having got the chance to work with Dulquer Salmaan and Irrfan Khan in Karwaan. While recalling the fond memories from the set, Mithila shared an anecdote from the shooting days in Kerala and revealed how she sometimes used to visit sets just to see how Dulquer and Irrfan’s work. Mithila shared, “Dulquer Salmaan and Irrfan Khan are two of the finest actors we had in our country. That was another Disney land for me that was literally it. We were shooting in Kerala. So, it was not like I had to go back home. I had to go to my hotel room. So, even on days when they don’t need me on sets, I would go just to see them how these two works.”
Recalling filming her first scene with the Hindi Medium actor, she said, “And I my first scene was with Irrfan sir and you can imagine how intimidating it was. It took me so long to tell myself to prepare myself, I am not his audience. No matter how funny I find him, my character does not find him funny. So, I can’t laugh at his jokes it took me a while. But it was fantastic to be working with both Irrfan and Dulquer."
“There are not enough words to describe Irrfan sir as an artist and how amazing he is. He always had childlike energy on sets. Soon after Karwaan, he was to work on a web show so he used to sit with me and ask questions. He was always very keen to learn new things. He had this zest for life,” Mithila concluded.
