Farhan Akhtar is currently riding high on the success of Shonali Bose's The Sky Is Pink. The movie has received a lot of applauds from the critics as well as the audiences. The actor who was busy promoting this film also starring Priyanka Chopra, Zaira Wasim and Rohit Saraf which released on 11th October 2019 will head back for the prep of his next, Toofan. It tells the story of a boxer, played by Farhan, who does hard work for winning a boxing match.

This is the second time Farhan will be seen in a sports film. His first sports film Bhaag Milkha Bhaag which was released in 2013 was a massive hit. On speaking about again doing a sports film, the actor said that the film Toofan is not just about boxing. It is about human relationships and boxing is an important part of it. He thinks that it was the same with his film Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. That story was of Milkha Singh as a person, who comes to terms with his past, and there were a lot of races as part of the narrative because Milkha was a sprinter. So the emotional layers have to always be there as part of the story.

He further added that as an actor, when he prepares himself and goes through physical training, it is a new discipline for him. It is exciting and challenging at the same time because he has never boxed in his life before. But his reason to do a film is always an amazing story that the film intends to tell.

Directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and written by Anjum Rajabali, Toofan is jointly produced by Farhan Akhtar, Ritesh Sidhwani, Mehra, P. S. Bharathi and Rajiv Tandon. The film also stars Paresh Rawal, Isha Talwar, and Mrunal Thakur and will hit screens on 2nd October 2020.
