'First Rishi Kapoor, now Rajiv Kapoor, this is shocking; another personal loss' says Padmini Kolhapure
In a recent interview, actress Padmini Kolhapure, who has worked with Rajiv Kapoor in the film Preeti, recalled her fond memories with the late actor and stated that he had all the qualities of his father Raj Kapoor.

Heartfelt tributes are pouring in for actor-director Rajiv Kapoor, who breathed his last today. Rishi Kapoor and Randhir Kapoor’s younger brother Rajiv Kapoor passed away at the age of 58 in Mumbai. The Ram Teri Ganga Maili star has reportedly died of cardiac arrest and was declared dead on arriving at a hospital. His tragic demise has sent shockwaves in the film industry. While everyone is heartbroken and is fondly remembering the late actor, actress Padmini Kolhapure in a recent interview recalled her sweet memories with Rajiv Kapoor.
While talking to ETimes, the senior actress said she has literally grown up in the Kapoor household and this is "another personal loss for her." The actress was quoted as saying, “First Chintu (Rishi Kapoor) and now Chimpu (Rajiv Kapoor)... this is shocking for me. I am someone who has literally grown up in the Kapoor household and this is another personal loss for me. I have done two films with Chimpu--'Preeti', which released, and 'Aag Ka Dariya', which did not see the light of the day. The demise of both the brothers has impacted us in a huge way.”
The Prem Rog actress added that unlike others in the family, Rajiv was yet to taste commercial success but he was "okay" in his space. "He had everything that his father (Raj Kapoor) had. He has gone too soon."
Further, Padmini Kolhapure mentioned that the late actor always had a passion for acting and filmmaking. He knew music so well like his father.
“To sum it up, he had all the qualities of Raj Kapoor - the filmmaker. He grew up with him, learnt from him, and even directed 'Prem Granth' with Madhuri Dixit and Rishi,” Padmini concluded.
