Friday Releases: Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel to take on Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu’s Badla
Every Friday brings in something new for the movie buffs. For those who love action superhero films and murder mystery, this Friday will be an ultimate treat for them as Hollywood’s much anticipated film Captain Marvel will take on Bollywood’s murder mystery Badla. Both the films are of completely different genres and their target audiences are completely different. While Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel is a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe which is a phenomenon in itself, Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu’s Badla is a thrilling story with twists and turns.
Coming to Captain Marvel, the movie stars Brie Larson and Samuel L Jackson and is the story of Carol Danvers who is a former Air Force Pilot. The story revolves around how Carol becomes one of the strongest heroes that earth has seen and fights off the aliens. The story will delve into the progression of Carol’s life as she becomes Captain Marvel and joins Starforce, a Kree military team. Helmed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, Captain Marvel is set in 1995 and also stars Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace, Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan, Annette Bening, Clark Gregg and Jude Law.
Talking about Badla, the movie is helmed by ace director, Sujoy Ghosh who is known for films like Kahaani and Kahaani 2. Badla is the story of Naina Sethi who is blamed for the murder of her lover and is caught in a conspiracy. Badal Gupta played by Amitabh Bachchan is a lawyer and is also Naina Sethi aka Taapsee Pannu’s last hope of coming out from the legal mess. However, amidst all this, who murdered Naina’s lover is the story of the film. Badla is the remake of the Spanish film The Invisible Guest.
With Badla, Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan will mark their first collaboration as producer and actor. On the other hand, Captain Marvel will be Marvel Cinematic Universe’s first female-led superhero film as Brie Larson will leave everyone in awe of her character.
