The first episode of the final season of Game of Thrones made the audiences nostalgic as well as left them with a glimmer of hope for the upcoming episodes. After much fanfare, the final season of GoT aired on Monday morning in India and fans have been going ever since. Just like the audiences, the star cast of the fantasy drama went through an emotional roller coaster as the filming of the season finale came to an end.

In a recent interview, Sophie Turner opened up about the impact of the fame she received as GoT's Sansa Stark on her mental health. Sophie was a normal Brit teenager when she first appeared on the show in 2011. Over the years, Sansa's role gave her a new found stardom. However, Sophie revealed that the negative comments about her character on social media caused a decline in her mental health.

In a podcast with Dr Phil, Sophie said, "I would just believe it. I would say, ‘Yeah, I am spotty. I am fat. I am a bad actress.' I would just believe it. I would get [the costume department] to tighten my corset a lot," she explained to the host, reported E!News.

The actress also revealed that these feelings of insecurity eventually led to symptoms of depression. Sophie also doubted her choices as she had picked the show instead of a university education like her two brothers. Sophie added, "I just would cry and cry and cry over just getting changed and putting on clothes and be like, 'I can't do this. I can't go outside. I have nothing that I want to do'."

She further revealed that the problem continues even today and the biggest challenge is learning to love herself. Has she ever thought of hurting herself? The actress says, "It's weird. I say I wasn't very depressed when I was younger, but I used to think about suicide a lot when I was younger. I don't know why though." Now that GoT filming has officially been completed, Joe Jonas' girlfriend Sophie plans to focus on her mental health.
