Even as we continue to reel under the effect of Alauddin Khilji, Ranveer Singh has transformed into a more leaner look for his upcoming moe Gully Boy where he plays a rapper. According to a report in a leading daily, the actor shot for its first song of the movie in Mumbai's Dharavi over a period of five days.

The movie is said to be based on rapers Divine and Naezy and hence director Zoya Akhtar has included their popular song Mere Gully Mein in the film.

Not just that, the report further states that Ranveer will be seen doing B-boying for the first time in Gully Boy. The song has been choreographed by Bosco Martis. A source revealed to a leading daily, "Ranveer has always been a smooth dancer. But Zoya was certain that he needed to be well-versed with B-boying as he would be matching steps with professional dancers in the number."

"The song was shot in Anna Nagar, a bunch of shanties behind Dharavi's Kamarajar School. Aged between 12 to 20, the boys were thrilled by Ranveer's enthusiasm for B-boying and aced the cypher (forming a circle) sequence," the source added.

The shoot will apparently resume on Sunday with the cast spending nearly 12 hours on the sets for the shoot. The source added that Ranveer used this opportunity to mingle with the locals there and even picked up their lingo.

Ranveer will be seen opposite Alia Bhatt in the movie and is very happy about the same. "It’s my first collaboration on a full-length feature film with Alia [Bhatt], who I rate very high as an actor. She is certainly among the best actors in today’s day-and-age. I believe she is on her way towards greatness," Ranveer had earlier said about Alia.
