Sonam Kapoor Ahuja is celebrating her 34th birthday today. One of the biggest fashion icons of the industry, Sonam is also a mind-blowing actor. She has proved her talent time and again in blockbuster films and won our hearts. The actress made her debut with the 2007 romantic film Saawariya alongside Ranbir Kapoor. The Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial failed to do wonders at the box office. However, Sonam and Ranbir were applauded for their powerful performances.

The actress went on to work with stars such as Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan and Abhishek Bachchan and with her talent, managed to make her name in the industry. Let’s celebrate Sonam Kapoor Ahuja’s birthday today by taking a look back at her 5 top films.

1. Neerja:

The 2016 biographical thriller is undoubtedly one of the best films of Sonam Kapoor’s career. She played the titular character of Neerja Bhanot, the head purser for an airline who died while saving passengers on Pan Am Flight 73, which had been hijacked by terrorists during a stopover in Karachi, Pakistan in 1986. The film won 2 awards at the National Film Awards and 6 awards at Filmfare Awards.

2. Veere Di Wedding:

One of the most unique story lines that Bollywood has ever seen. Sonam Kapoor played the role of a successful divorce lawyer named Avni whose mother is constantly looking for a suitable groom for her daughter. She impressed the audience with her innocent yet experimental personality and sure won hearts. Sonam’s on-screen chemistry with Bhandari, played by Vishwas Kini, was also applauded.

3. Khoobsurat:

The Disney romantic comedy became a favourite for many! Sonam Kapoor as Dr Mili Chakravarty, the pretty yet clumsy physiotherapist who had one after the other dysfunctional relationship, was adorable. And who can forget the dreamy prince Vikram Singh Rathore played by Fawad Khan. Brilliant performances by Kirron Kher and Ratna Pathak Shah were the cherry on top of a fabulous film.

4. Aisha:

Once again, Sonam Kapoor managed to charm the audience with her innocent yet sassy character, Aisha. She portrayed the role of a rich girl who loves to shop and hang out with friends and thinks that she is perfectly suited for matchmaking. Only problem- she isn’t! It’s a happy film that can be watched almost any time. And did we mention her amazing chemistry with the handsome Abhay Deol?

5. Delhi-6:

The film, which is reportedly based on director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's growing up years in Chandni Chowk, won the Nargis Dutt Award for Best Feature Film. It was Sonam Kapoor’s second film and gave the audience a chance to see more of her acting skills than in Saawariya. She was amazing as Bittu, who wanted to secretly get out of Old-Delhi and prepared to audition for the reality show Indian Idol in the hope to fly away to Mumbai.

Film after film, the actor proved how talented she is, making the audience fall in love with her. We wish her a very happy birthday and hope she has an amazing year ahead!
