Days after Sanjay Leela Bhansali announced his project Gangubai Kathiawadi with Alia Bhatt, it is reported that he has approached Hrithik Roshan to play the male lead in the movie.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s fans were heartbroken when he shelved his much-anticipated project Inshallah with Salman Khan and Alia Bhatt. After all, it was supposed to mark his reunion with Salman after two decades. Besides, Bhansali was also looking forward to directing Alia for the first time. But soon after Insha Allah was shelved, he soon surprised his fans after with his new project Gangubai Kathiawadi. The much-talked-about movie will feature Alia Bhatt playing the titular role and the audience can’t keep calm about it. Interestingly, ever since the project has been announced, there have been speculations about the remaining cast of the movie.

And now if the media reports are to believed, Bhansali is planning to rope in Hrithik Roshan as the male lead in Gangubai Kathiawadi. According to a report published in Filmfare, the Padmaavat director has approached the War star to play the role of the yesteryear don Haji Mastan in the movie which will begin rolling in December this year Although Hrithik hasn’t given a nod to the project, if the reports turned out to be true it will mark Hrithik’s first collaboration with the Raazi actress.

Besides, it will also mark the superstar’s reunion with Bhansali after 9 years. The actor-director duo had last worked together in 2010 release Guzaarish. As of now, Hrithik is busy basking in the success of his last release War which has emerged as the highest grosser of the year so far.

Meanwhile, Hrithik hasn’t announced his next project after War. However, he has been rumoured to be in talks for Farah Khan’s Satte Pe Satta remake. Besides, the Super 30 actor is also expected to begin working on the fourth installment of his superhero franchise Krrish.
