Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2019: Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt's Gully Boy wins the 'Best Film Award'

Bollywood's energy man Ranveer Singh received a lot of appreciation from the audience for his last two films- Zoya Akhtar's Gully Boy and Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavat. In fact, his cop drama Simmba was also a huge success. The actor is having the best time in his acting career right now. In his personal life too, he is happily married to the queen of Bollywood, Deepika Padukone. Meanwhile, The Indian Film Festival of Melbourne kick-started yesterday and many stars from the Indian Cinema marked their presence. The festival will screen over 60 films from all across India and the subcontinent in over 22 languages. 
Many celebs including Shah Rukh Khan, Zoya Akhtar, Arjun Kapoor and Tabu were present there. While, two of Ranveer Singh's films won special awards. He took to his Instagram handle and shared a good news with the fans on his story. The Padmavat actor posted the posters of his films Gully Boy and Simmba as they won awards at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne. Directed by Zoya Akhtar, and featuring Alia Bhatt too, Gully Boy won the 'Best Film' award. While, Simmba, helmed by Rohit Shetty and starring Sara Ali Khan opposite Ranveer was the winner in the category of People's Choice Award. 
On the professional front, Ranveer Singh is prepping for his upcoming release '83, helmed by Kabir Khan. The film is scheduled to hit the theatres on 10 April, 2020 in three languages namely Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. '83 is based on the 1983 world cup, won by India under Kapil Dev's captaincy. Ranveer will be seen playing the role of the former cricketer. The actor has worked hard and practiced a lot for this project.
