Late actor Irrfan Khan will be remembered for a myriad of things, but above all the actor is fondly remembered for his love for the craft of acting. His son Babil Khan, who is now following in his footsteps and plans to become an actor himself, recently took to Instagram to share a screenshot of a heartfelt text sent to him by Irrfan co-star and actor Kal Penn. The 2006 film saw Irrfan and Tabu reunite for Mira Nair's directorial.

While they played the lead roles, their son's character was essayed by Kal Penn. Reaching out to Babil, Kal admitted that he wanted to get in touch with Irrfan's family but wasn't sure how to go about it. Responding to a message from Babil, Kal referred to a story that the actor's son probably told him and thanked him for the same.

Kal's heartfelt text read, "Babil, I'm so moved that you reached out and it means so much to me to hear that story. Thank you. The Namesake is the project I'm most proud of, the one that brought me the greatest artistic happiness - and getting to work with and know your father was such a big part of that."

He also reminisced the shoot days and added, "(I think I met you and your brother in Calcutta when we were filming). I've thought of you two and your mom a lot this past year and wasn't sure how to get in touch to share my love and gratitude. It really means so much to me that you reached you. Thank you! — Let me know if you're ever in New York post-pandemic. And please give my love to your mom."

Just recently, Babil shared text messages that Irrfan had sent him last year. The young one's Instagram is truly a treat for Irrfan's fans.
