After wrapping up the shooting schedule of Satyameva Jayate 2, Joha Abrahan is currently busy in shooting for his upcoming action flick ‘Attack’. The film is based on a true story of a hostage crisis, written and helmed by debutant director Lakshya Raj Anand. The film stars John as a lone ranger who leads an attack team during a counter operation. Apart from John, it also features Jacqueline Fernandez and Rakul Preet Singh in lead roles. Now, John Abraham has taken to his Twitter handle to announce the exact release date of the film.

The film is going to hit the big screens during Independence Day this year, on August 13, 2021. In his tweet, the actor has also described the film as a ‘taut action entertainer’. He has also mentioned that he loves doing ‘action’ genre films. John’s tweet read as, ““Attack" - a taut, action entertainer with a strong storyline...a genre I love! In theatres, this Independence Day..Release Date- 13th August, 2021.” 'This upcoming film is a joint collaboration between Abraham's production banner.

According to PTI reports, the actor said 'Attack' aligned with his vision to make entertaining and high-on-content films. He further stated that it is their endeavour to push the envelope and produce films that entertain and have something significantly different to show to their increasingly discerning audience. "Releasing the film in theatres this Independence weekend adds to my excitement," the actor added.

The film was originally announced for an August 2020 release but got delayed due to the coronavirus-induced nationwide lockdown.
