The release of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmaavat on January 25, 2018, has made several movies push their release date ahead. Last year, John Abraham's film Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran was supposed to release around the same time of Padmaavat. But, avoiding it so as to not clash with the magnum opus. Later on, it was said that the film will release on February 23, 2018.
But now, the movie will be clashing with Rani Mukerji’s Hichki and Sonakshi Sinha and Diljit Dosanjh's Boom Boom In New York. As per reports in a leading daily, Parmanu will get pushed further. Talking about it, a source said to the daily, "A three-way clash will hamper the movie’s business and nobody wants to lose money. Plus, It was just announced that Pari is coming on March 2, so it doesn’t make sense for them to have two films releasing back-to-back. Ideally, the makers want a fortnight’s gap in between their movies."
The source further said, "Reportedly, John wasn’t too happy to leave the December 8 spot as well. So, it will take a bit of convincing but he should understand the scenario and think about what serves his film best."
Well, we have to wait for an official announcement about the release dates of the film.
Parmanu - The Story Of Pokhran is being helmed by Abhishek Sharma and is slated to release on December 8, 2017. John will even be producing the film under his home productions JA Entertainment together with Zee Studios and Kyta Productions.
