John Cena, the WWE superstar was not a part of the WWE Royal Rumble 2019 match this year. On January 8th, John Cena had said, "Everybody here knows, on the road to Wrestlemania, there is one match that any superstar can grab that golden ticket. The golden ticket to the main event, the championship at the granddaddy of them all – the Wrestlemania. And that is the Royal Rumble. In life, nothing is given away. Nothing is handed to you. You work hard, and you earn every inch. And I plan on earning my golden ticket. Right now, I am officially entering myself in this year’s Royal Rumble match."

As reported by Indian Express, after a week of his announcement, John Cena injured himself during the match against with Finn Balor, Baron Corbin and Drew Mclntyre. John was left with an injured ankle during the fight. However, WWE didn't clearly share if he will be a part of the Rumble match or not. However, today, their Twitter page shared the news that John Cena won't be participating in the WWE Royal Rumble 2019 match.

WWE tweeted, "BREAKING: @catherinekelley has learned that @BraunStrowman will replace @JohnCena in the Men's #RoyalRumble Match tonight!
