John Cena, popular WWE superstar turned Hollywood actor, started 2019 with a bang as he starred in Bumblebee. The Transformers franchise film, which also starred Hailee Steinfeld, proved to be a hit at the box-office. Besides starring alongside Jackie Chan in the action thriller Project X, Cena has another Hollywood project on the pipeline. John will be starring in Jason Bateman's untitled action comedy for Netflix, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Besides directing, Jason will also be a part of the cast along with John as will see him reunite with Mark Perez, writer of Game Night (2018).
Speaking of the action comedy, the storyline centers on a family that gets stuck in an old abandoned movie studio. What's interesting is that the various sets in the studio comes to life and will see the family stuck in several different movies. Cena plans to make the comedy genre his major forte as, over the past few years, we've seen in him in films like Blockers (2018), Daddy's Home 2 (2017), Sisters (2015) and Trainwreck (2015). It's definitely a genre that works for the witty actor.

Meanwhile, speaking of Cena, the wrestler was scheduled as a participant for the Royal Rumble 2019 match. However, a supposed ankle injury during a taping of Monday Night Raw has kept him away from the pay-per-view.
According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, Cena's injury is a 'work' as he has to shoot for a Hollywood movie.
Cena will instead be seen making his return again when Wrestlemania 35 season kickstarts but it's yet to be known as to who he will be pitted against.
