Justin Bieber has come a long way since his rebellious 2014 phase. The singer has been churning out hits after hits with some epic collaborations while his personal life has never been better; being engaged to the love of his life Hailey Baldwin. While JB is not looking back any time soon, his manager and trusted confidante Scooter Braun got candid and took a trip down memory lane on Van Lathan's The Red Pill Podcast talking about the time when he was sure that Justin would not have made it out alive.

The year 2014 was exceptionally bad for Justin as he was involved in many negative incidents. The major one being arrested for a DUI as the singer was caught drag racing a Lamborgini in Miami. Before the DUI arrest, Justin's house was raided by the police as it was believed that the popstar had egged his neighbours' house with damages amounting up to $20,000. His health and substance abuse had gone overboard and when his team tried to get him to cool down, Justin would scream and shout. However, Scooter was adamant to give Justin a break from making music and touring and instead concentrate on his deteriorating health.

During the interview, Scooter started things off by sharing how he would have nightmares about the fact that every night could have been JB's last. "I thought he was going to die. I thought he was going to sleep one night and that he would have so much crap in his system that he would not wake up the next morning," Scooter shared.

For a year and a half, Scooter was by Justin's side as he made a promise to be there with him no matter what. However, each time he failed to help Justin. Ultimately it was Justin himself who chose his path to recovery and shared with Scooter that he does not want to be this person that he has become.

Calling Justin an extraordinary man with an extraordinary life, Scooter stated, "He used to complain, and he used to fight it and that's when he got into a dark place, but when he accepted his responsibility and took a hard look at himself and not what everyone was doing, that's when he owned it and he got healthy."

We're glad Justin is happy and healthy now!
