The Abhishek Varman directorial Kalank which stars Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapur in pivotal roles has released in theatres today and the much awaited film has opened up to rave reviews from the critics and the masses alike. The film was one of the most anticipated films of this year and while some are awestruck by the magnificence of it, others felt it failed to charm them.

The public review of the film is finally out and it seems that the film has been received mixed response on its first day by the masses. Some of the audiences loved the film as they went on to give some extra brownie points to the infectious chemistry of Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt. The performances, music and the lavish sets have seemed to impress the masses who could not stop raving about the extravagance of the film.

But the film has received its own share of criticisms too. Many revealed that the film has slow placed screenplay and sloppy direction. The film was especially accused of being too much time consuming with the songs and the sets being the only saving grace. One of the viewer also termed the magnanimous bull fighting scene of Varun in the film as highly unrealistic, while another person revealed that Sanjay Dutt looked a little jagged for his part. Well, it seems that the film is opening up to both favourable and unfavourable criticisms by the audiences. The film is set in the era of partition and also stars Kunal Kemmu in a guest appearance.

Kalank is totally a disaster film of the year.Really who make such kinda films useless stories useless characters no story...Disappointed

Kalank is must a must watch for Varun and Alia. Varun Dhawan lives the role of Zafar. He looks very handsome and plays the frustrated character with a lot of conviction. He is fantastic in the last part. Alia Bhatt delivers yet another memorable performance. Her acting is so outstanding that it wouldn’t be wrong to say, she shines in every scene of hers. She looks a pristine beauty and her costumes and jewellery will become a point of discussion among girls and ladies.l loved Alia and Varun's chemistry . I wish the whole movie was on them. Everyone else were not needed.Yes and I loved all the songs. They were at the right place and right time. Varun's first class, with Kiara, Varuna dn Alia in title track, Varun and Krit in Aira Gaira, Alia in Ghar more pardesiya and Rajwadi Odhni. Tabah ho gayi was not needed.I loved Pritam da' s music. Madhuri looks very old. Sanju baba needs to get back in shape, Sona good, Aditya Average, No one comes close to looks, acting, dancing in front of Varun. Varun is the heart and soul of the movie and Alia is an etheral beauty with a lot of talent and grace and perfect diction..3.5 out of 5 for me. Go watch it once atleast.
