Kangana Ranaut, who was last seen in Judgementall Hai Kya, is all set for her next film Thalaivi which is a biopic on late political stalwart, J Jayalalithaa. Kangana will be playing the role of Jayalalithaa. The actress has been prepping hard to get into the character. She had even taken hormone pills to gain weight for her character in the movie. The poster and introduction of Kangana as Jayalalithaa has been appreciated a lot by the audience. But now, it looks like Thalaivi has run into trouble.

According to reports, the Madras High Court has given permission to J Jayalalithaa's niece Deepa to file a civil suit against the makers of Thalaivi. As per reports, the High Court has given permission to sue director AL Vijay of Thalaivi and the makers. For the uninitiated, Deepa had moved to Madras High Court at the start of this month. She wanted the court to put a stay on Thalaivi as well as a web-series directed by Gautham Menon.

Since Thalaivi is a biopic that is based on J Jayalalithaa's life, Deepa said that Vijay had not taken her consent before making the film. They do not have any legal rights to make a film on her aunt. She said that it can affect her late aunt and her family's privacy. She further said that the producers want to make the film only for monetary gains and she wants the makers to ask for her permission and also show her the entire script of Thalaivi. The Kangana Ranaut starrer is being simultaneously made in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.

The biopic showcasing the life of the late actor-turned-politician will release on June 26, 2020.
