Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga has been the talk of the town off lately, courtesy how it has taken up the sensitive topic of same-sex love, where Sonam Kapoor plays a lesbian and through Anil Kapoor's character the movie does give out a staunch message. The movie has been receiving rave reviews for portraying the topic so sensibly and yet adding entertainment as well as sensitivity to it. Everyone's character portrayal has been praised and the fans have been going gaga over the film despite how it does have a mixed critic review.

And now, Kareena Kapoor Khan got talking to Sonam about homosexuality, about how gays aren't talked about in such film while lesbians are, and so many other things. Sonam had answers that were totally on point and something that most of the people of our generation would agree to, and something that the society should abide by too. When Kareena asked Sonam if any of her character portrayal draws from her real life, she said it isn't the characteristics but mere emotions that she draws things from her real life. Talked about why not men in love are shown, Sonam said how society likes to direct how men and women love and it includes everything right from ethnicity to so many other things."

Talking about parents and how they turn out to be the biggest hurdles in a child's relationship etc, she said there is a change in the society in India but there are honour killings, people have to run away from their houses but at the same time films and art is such a medium which can entertain and educate, society has changed but not changed much. When asked how it is the same title and song but with a different meaning, she said, "When you see the film you'll see the progression and see how we have changed in terms of content and relationships and in terms of everything, and for me to do this, it was RD Burmans last album, and my father's much loved song, it is incredible, it is also telling waht it is supposed to be and working on it with my father is the cherry on the cake."

The society still seems to be a major barrier, and on this Sonam quipped,  "People need to understand that sexuality is soemthing you're born with, whether you like a man or a woman, or you want to be a man or woman. And hopefully, with section 377 being revoked, homosexuality isn't looked as a crime but that stigma needs to go and that is a long time coming."
