Sara Ali Khan and Sushant Singh Rajput’s film Kedarnath has finally hit the screens today and has opened to mixed reviews. After many hurdles, Kedarnath finally made to the theaters but seems like that there are more issues that have to be dealt. The film has landed into controversy yet again. The movie has been banned in seven districts of Uttarakhand, as per ADG (law and order) Ashok Kumar. District Magistrate Nainital Vinod Kr Suman announced the ban on Friday in Haridwar, Dehradun and Udham Singh Nagar district.

"Our committee has forwarded our advice to CM and decided that law and order should be reviewed. We asked District Magistrates to maintain peace and everyone has decided that Kedarnath movie should be banned. The movie is banned everywhere in state," Satpal Maharaj, Uttarakhand Tourism Minister confirmed the news to ANI. A day earlier to the release, everything seemed fine, and now, the Uttarakhand Government has imposed the ban.

A four-member committee led by Satpal Maharaj had a discussion about the complaints related to the movie. Earlier, Ajendra Ajay, a state BJP leader had tweeted that the film’s release should be banned taking the religious differences in the consideration. Ajay had addressed issues related to the film's poster that "shows the hero, a Muslim carrying the heroine, a Hindu", in a palanquin with the Kedarnath shrine in the background.

During the trailer launch of the film which was held in Mumbai last month, Abhishek had addressed the ongoing controversy surrounding the movie, saying "When people will watch the movie they will know that there is nothing controversial in it. We have made it with a lot of love and it is about love."

There is nothing wrong in the movie but in people’s mind. It’s an awesome movie..loved everything showed in the movie

How stupid, I saw the movie and said to my friend that we should visit the state after seeing how beautiful it looked in the movie.
Swear to God this religion hysteria will bring destruction to this country

So true. People are becoming so sensitive about movies I just sad and goes out to show how much do we like to give importance to trivial matters rather than discussing about the more pressing issues existing around us.

Totally Agree! People can be so rigid in their ways of thinking that they somehow manage to only see negative in things.
